Distant: A film about connection and community.
About: While on a road trip with her parents, a young girl finds herself stumbling mysteriously into a technologically advanced alternate reality where people are withdrawn and reliant on their tech. She meets a middle-aged man, who runs an ice cream truck, and he helps her try and figure out a way back home.
(Based around the late 70s, early 80s. Inspired by Sci-Fi and Cyberpunk)
Characters and Main Antagonist
Young Girl: Pre-teens/early-teens. Has difficulty connecting with her parents. Bit of a geek; loves comics, video games, and music. Develops a connection with the Middle-Aged Man.
Middle-Aged Man: Divorced, had a daughter, died of a terminal disease and tech couldn’t save her. She loved cats so the Man runs the ice cream truck in her memory. He will later develop a fatherly relationship with Young Girl.
CORTEX: Leading tech company who invented portals with the purpose of stealing resources from other realities.
Objective
Design graphics and signage that would fit the characters/world based on their description.
